✅ Interesting Facts About Imperial College
Imperial College Business School is Imperial College London’s business school. Queen Elizabeth II inaugurated the business school in 2004. With alumni in 124 countries, over 90% of the faculty are from outside the United Kingdom.
Imperial College’s South Kensington campus is home to the business school, which is located on Exhibition Road. This was built on the site of the Royal School of Mines’ Goldsmith’s wing, utilising the older building’s 19th century vaults. Foster and Partners designed the new structure, with Buro Happold providing engineering services. It was built for £15.7 million between September 2002 and June 2004, and Queen Elizabeth II opened it in 2004.
It includes 639 seats in seven lecture halls, as well as 70 PhD student desks. In August 2008, the building was christened the Tanaka Building. The business school also has a secondary location in South Kensington, at 53 Prince’s Gate. The school was renamed Imperial College Business School in August 2008 since the previous name did not emphasise its connection to the College. The Tanaka Building was the name given to the school’s residence. Another theory is that once Tanaka was convicted and found guilty of conspiracy, securities fraud, and investment adviser fraud in the same year, the college changed its name to separate itself from his fraudulent actions.
Alan Howard, a British hedge fund investor and Imperial alumnus, gave £20.1 million in March 2013 to establish the Brevan Howard Centre for Financial Analysis, a finance research centre.
