✅ Interesting Facts About Albrecht Mendelssohn Bartholdy Graduate School of Law
The Albrecht Mendelssohn Bartholdy Graduate School of Law (AMBSL) is part of the University of Hamburg’s Faculty of Law. The college was founded in 2012 and is aimed towards legal scholars, as well as graduates and post-docs from other disciplines. It was named after Albrecht Mendelssohn Bartholdy, a professor of law at Hamburg’s Faculty of Law in the early 1920s.
The research training group is built on two pillars: all scientific issues must have a basic direction, and the program encourages its participants to think globally. The themes are not limited to specific sub-disciplines of law, but rather questions about the overarching backdrop of the evolution of law and its sub-disciplines are encouraged. Legal-theoretical, legal-philosophical, legal-sociological, and legal-historical perspectives are among them.
The curriculum emphasizes the internationality of the doctorate students, both in terms of subject content, such as European law, international law, and private international law, and in terms of the students themselves. A portion of the event will be conducted in English. Approximately half of the supported doctoral students are currently from outside the United States. Internal and external professors conduct seminars to the participants of the Research Training Group.
Professors Florian Jeßberger, Karl-Heinz Ladeur, Ernst-Joachim Mestmäcker, Stefan Oeter, Hans-Heinrich Trute, Antje Wiener, and Peer Zumbansen are only a few of them. The themes are all centered on fundamental legal issues, as stated in the graduate school’s mission statement.
