Rotary International will help the students who want to study abroad on scholarship. Rotary Peace Fellowship Program, 2022-23, provides over 130 fully-funded fellowships to the excellent leaders of the community from all over the world.
In this scholarship program, you will get; academic training, applied field experience, networking, workshop series, and a final seminar. The duration of the Master’s Degree Scholarship is 15 to 24 months.
Rotary International is a humanitarian service organisation that brings together commercial, professional, and community leaders to help others, promote honesty, and advance world goodwill, peace, and understanding. It is a non-profit organisation that is neither political nor religious. Membership is by invitation only and is determined by a variety of social parameters. Rotarians are members of over 46,000 member clubs around the world, totaling 1.4 million people.
On February 23, 1905, attorney Paul P. Harris convened a meeting of three business acquaintances at his friend Gustave Loehr’s office in the Unity Building on Dearborn Street in downtown Chicago, Illinois, to organise the first Rotary Club. Silvester Schiele (a coal dealer) and Hiram E. Shorey (a tailor) were the other two who attended this inaugural meeting, in addition to Harris and Loehr (a mining engineer and freemason). Although the Chicago club grew so large within a year that it became necessary to adopt the now-common practise of a fixed meeting site, the members picked the name Rotary because they first rotated following weekly club meetings to each other’s offices.
Beginning with San Francisco, Oakland, Seattle, and Los Angeles, the next four Rotary Clubs were organised in cities across the western United States. In the year 1910, the National Association of Rotary Clubs in America was formed. On November 3, 1910, a Rotary club in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, met for the first time, marking the start of the organization’s international nature. The Rotary Club Dublin conducted its inaugural meeting on February 22, 1911, in Dublin, Ireland. This was the first club outside of North America to be established. Rotary formed the Winnipeg club in April 1912, making it the first American-style service club outside of the United States: 45 In 1912, the name was changed to the International Association of Rotary Clubs to reflect the addition of a club outside of the United States.
The Rotary Club of London obtained its charter from the Association in August 1912, making it the first Rotary club outside of North America. It was later discovered that the Dublin club in Ireland was organised before the London club, although the Dublin club received its charter after the London club. Rotary in the United Kingdom grew from 9 to 22 clubs during World War I, while early clubs in other countries included those in Cuba in 1916, the Philippines in 1919, and India in 1920.
